Yesterday's Sherman's Lagoon comic by Jim Toomey had a character who planned to be cryogenically frozen until the world became a better place.  He gave his friend his power of attorney to handle his affairs "while he was gone."  He also gave instructions to thaw him out when things got better.  The punch line was "What if it's better because you're frozen?".

At least the character was thinking ahead.
